Appearing for the first time back in Batman #1 (1940), Catwoman is the alter ego of Selina Kyle, who was trained by Ted Grant (Wildcat) and has become an interesting mix of high-profile thief and protector of the forgotten. Selina was inspired by the appearance of Batman to become Catwoman, and Catwoman and Batman have a strong attraction for each other, but being crime-fighter and professional thief keeps they at odds with one another.
